Whether they are painted or stained, timber blinds are a modern alternative to shutters.

All timber blinds come standard with decorative valance and colour coordinated components. All wooden blinds are made with the highest standard of quality and can be adapted to any shape of window.

Wooden blinds - whether the chosen timber is basswood or cedar - all slats are made of solid wood and coated with UV Protectant for long lasting colours.

BlindsNZ offers 2 types of wooden blinds:


Basswood – 50mm wide slats
Red Western Cedar – 46mm wide slats

Basswood is a modern, high quality and more cost effective alternative for wooden blinds, stained or painted standards colours, add a sophisticated look to the room. As per its insulation properties and strength basswood blinds can be used in any type of spaces. It will perfectly blend with the most different environments bringing the richness and warmth of timber.

Red Western Cedar slats are internationally known for its high quality and light weight wood bringing a very elegant finish to each room. Cedar has been traditionally used on residential areas, however suits any type of rooms from busy commercial areas to quiet bedrooms.

 

How to Measure Window BlindsFor Roller, Venetians, Wooden and Vertical Blinds you measure your windows the same way.

You will need:

Metal measuring tape

Pen

Paper

Inside or Outside fit?

1. For inside fit, the blind will be fitted just below the top sill, flushing with the frame of the window. All blinds are slightly smaller than the measurement provided (don't worry - we will make the allowance for you, unless you specify otherwise .
2. For outside fit, the blind will be fitted onto the window sill or on the wall, just above the window, slightly wider than the opening. All blinds will have no deductions or additions to the measurements provided.
3. Always record measurements in mm wide x mm high, measure the exact width and height in three different places (top, middle and bottom) even if they look alike, use the narrowest measurement.
4. Always pay attention if there are no obstructions, i.e. locks, handles and if any, make sure the the window frame is deep enough and has enough clearance to suit your blind.
